Croatian-born former Australian international Dario Vidosic will take the reins at Brighton this season after being appointed over the summer.

Vidosic takes over from interim boss Mikey Harris, after American Melissa Phillips departed the club in February.

While Vidosic was born in Croatia, he moved to Australia when he was just one when his father Rado signed for the Queensland Lions in Brisbane.

Brought up in Brisbane, Vidosic played in the A-League for his home town Brisbane Roar before playing four seasons in Germany.

During a nomadic playing career, he made 23 appearances for Australia, with one of his two international goals coming in England, scoring in a friendly win over Canada at Craven Cottage in 2013.

He retired from playing in 2022 and took over from his father as Melbourne City manager, leading them to the A-League Women Grand Final last season before heading to Brighton.
