Chelsea moved top of the Barclays Women’s Super League with a 2-0 victory over fellow title contenders Manchester City.
Elsewhere, Arsenal claimed the bragging rights in the North London derby and Everton did likewise in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, Manchester United continued their good start by beating Leicester City and Aston Villa got off the mark against Crystal Palace.
Chelsea go top with win over City
Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten helped Chelsea move top of the WSL after their 2-0 win over title rivals Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
In an otherwise cagey first half, Khadija Shaw spurned a golden chance to give the visitors the lead, flashing her shot wide after pouncing on a misplaced backpass from Sandy Baltimore.
Both sides were eager to start the second half strongly and Chelsea struck on the counter, but Alex Greenwood was there to make a vital tackle on Ramirez.

Erin Cuthbert was the next player to try her hand at breaking through the City defence, but dragged her effort wide.
With 15 minutes remaining, Ramirez finally broke the deadlock. Maika Hamano set her through and she shrugged off Alana Kennedy, before driving at Greenwood, cutting inside and curling the ball into the bottom corner.
The hosts pressed on and added another five minutes later through Reiten, who found space on the left hand side of the box and kept her composure to double Chelsea’s advantage.
Arsenal take the bragging rights in North London Derby
Arsenal’s dream start under interim manager Renee Slegers continued as they cruised to a 3-0 win at Tottenham.
Alessia Russo stunned the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crowd within 63 seconds with a well-placed finish into the bottom corner after she pounced on Mariona Caldentey’s deflected pass.
Frida Maanum made it two 20 minutes later when she found space just inside the area and drilled the ball beyond Rebecca Spencer’s outstretched glove.

Stina Blackstenius capped off a perfect day for the Gunners midway through the second half when she broke through behind the Spurs defence and coolly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
Brighton bounce back in five-goal thriller against West Ham
Fran Kirby starred as Brighton held off a resilient West Ham in their 3-2 win at the AMEX Stadium.
Having struggled at the Emirates last week, The Seagulls were cruising after Rachel McLauchlan bagged her first Brighton goal, curling the ball home after Kirby’s flicked pass.
Kiko Seike made it two on the hour mark, turning McLauchlan’s cross past West Ham goalkeeper Kinga Szemik.
However, two sublime long-range finishes from skipper Katrina Gorry in the space of five minutes gave West Ham hope of securing a vital point.

But Kirby’s quality ultimately proved the difference when she picked up Seike’s cross and placed a shot in off the post late on.
Everton win final Women’s Super League Merseyside derby at Goodison Park
The Blues won for the first time in the league this season at the eighth attempt to move up to ninth thanks to a penalty in a 1-0 win over Liverpool.
On the break, livewire Toni Payne isolated Gemma Bonner on the left of the penalty area, but she curled wide of the far top corner.

The referee awarded Everton a 41st-minute penalty when Fuka Nagano upended Honoka Hayashi. Katja Snoeijs sent returning Teagan Micah the wrong way.
After half-time, Courtney Brosnan denied the Reds’ No.8 Nagano with an excellent double save when she looked certain to score on both occasions.
Liverpool still remain without a league derby victory since 2019 while this was Everton Women’s first win at Goodison at their fifth and final attempt.
Aston Villa record first win this season with late wonderstrike

With 30 minutes played, the Eagles’ My Cato placed low beyond Villa goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo who unsuccessfully tried to block with her outstretched right leg.
Gabriela Nunes Da Silva headed across the box before Anna Pattern struck into the bottom right corner to level the scoring five minutes before half-time.
Villa were ahead in first-half stoppage time when Kirsty Hanson found the run of former Lioness Rachel Daly who slid home at the near post.
Palace looked to have denied the hosts a much-needed victory when Annabel Blanchard converted the back-post cross on the volley from Ashleigh Weerden in the 87th minute.
But in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Ebony Salmon turned and fired the ball into the roof of the net sparking big home celebrations.

Celin Bizet secured victory in the 81st minute with her first goal for United, slotting past Janina Leitzig after Catherine Bott underhit a back pass.
Only the table-topping, reigning champions Chelsea are also yet to lose this season. Three successive stalemates are responsible for the Red Devils’ current fifth-place position.
