Frenchwoman Amandine Miquel is set for her first season in English football having built up plenty of experience in her homeland.
Miquel managed Bergerac and Niort before taking charge of Reims in 2017, leading them to the French top flight and keeping them there, with a fourth-place finish in 2022/23 the highlight.
She spent part of her childhood in Mexico, where her parents were teaching abroad, and later lived in London, spending time in Chelsea’s academy.
Miquel has a reputation for bringing through youngsters, playing an integral role in Melchie Dumornay’s development, and is quoted as saying she ‘likes offensive football’ and ‘doesn’t like doing the same thing twice in training’.
She signed a three-year contract on arrival in the East Midlands and Leicester chief executive Susan Whelan said: “Her candidacy stood out from the earliest stages of the process.
“After meeting with her, it became apparent very quickly that she has the personality, technical qualities and leadership skills we’re looking for.”
