A vastly experienced player, Remi Allen made the move into coaching in 2024. As a midfielder, she began her career at hometown club Leicester City before playing for the likes of Nottingham County, Birmingham City and Reading in the Barclays Women’s Super League and its predecessor before returning to the Foxes in 2020.
Two seasons at Aston Villa were followed by a second stint at Birmingham City where her 16-year playing career ended. During her time at Blues, Allen began coaching, serving as an assistant for the England Under-23s women’s team.
The former England youth player then moved into coaching full time in March of 2024 as she took up the vacant head coach role at London City Lionesses in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
In her first month in charge, Allen won Barclays WC Manager of the Month as the Lionesses won three games and achieved survival.
Allen departed London City Lionesses at the end of the season following the expiration of her contract.
From there, she joined Southampton, taking over from Marieanne Spacey-Cale, who moved into a Head of Women’s Football role at Saints.
