The Women’s Professional Leagues will host their inaugural Women’s Professional Game Awards on Sunday 11 May 2025 following the conclusion of both the 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) and Barclays Women’s Championship (WC) campaigns.
The first event of its kind for the leagues, there will be 14 awards up for grabs across the evening, including the crowning of each division’s respective Player of the Season.
The awards in their entirety are as follows:
- Barclays WSL Player of the Season
- Barclays WSL Goal of the Season
- Barclays WC Player of the Season
- Barclays WC Goal of the Season
- Barclays WSL Rising Star
- Barclays WC Rising Star
- Barclays WSL Golden Boot
- Barclays WC Golden Boot
- Barclays WSL Golden Glove
- Barclays WC Golden Boot
- Club Hero Award
- Player Champion of Change Award
- Club Matchday Experience Award
- Fan of the Season Award
Shortlists for all the above will be announced on Wednesday 7 May. The categories will be voted for in a variety of methods, including votes from the WPLL Board, the Football Writers’ Association and Football Supporters’ Association.
Fans and the general public will be able to have their say on the following categories however from 12pm on Wednesday 7 May through until 12pm on Friday 9 May.
- Barclays WSL Player of the Season
- Barclays WC Player of the Season
- Barclays WC Goal of the Season
An additional vote will open for supporters to have their say on the Barclays WSL Goal of the Season at 5pm on Saturday 10 May following the conclusion of the top flight’s final day fixtures, through until 4pm on Sunday 11 May
Details regarding the voting process will be communicated across the leagues’ social media channels and website next week.
The winners of the awards will then be announced as they happen on the evening of Sunday 11 May across the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship’s X and Instagram accounts.
