We are delighted to announce that Manchester City’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been voted Barclays Women’s Super League 2023-24 Player of the Season.
The Jamaican international striker saw off competition from Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Grace Clinton (Tottenham Hotspur), Lauren James (Chelsea), Jutta Rantala (Leicester City), Elisabeth Terland (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Lotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal) to secure the accolade.
Voted by a combination of an expert panel from the women’s football industry and supporters via an online poll, Shaw enjoyed a scintillating season in front of goal prior to suffering a foot injury last month.
Scoring 21 goals in 18 league outings – including three hat-tricks in four games – the 27 year old scooped the Player of the Month award in December of last year.
Becoming her club’s all-time goalscorer with her effort in March’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium, her form throughout the campaign has earned her the sought-after award.
