Khadija Shaw scored an injury-time winner to give Manchester City a 2-1 victory over Liverpool and continue their reign at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table.
Chelsea temporarily topped the pack with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday before
Elisabeth Terland scored two to see Manchester United past Tottenham Hotspur.
Brighton took all three points against Crystal Palace while there were draws for Everton and West Ham United, and Aston Villa and Leicester City.
Shaw clinches late winner for Man City
Khadija Shaw’s second-half double saw Manchester City come from behind to beat Liverpool at Anfield.
It was a muted affair at the start as Liverpool frustrated City with their tight defence.
Lauren Hemp saw the best chance of the game early on but her link-up play with Shaw ended with a slightly awkward shot off the outside of her foot to go just wide of the far post.
That was for you! 🫵

Olivia Smith broke the deadlock in the 41st minute to end Liverpool’s curse of never having scored at Anfield. Her clean interception in the middle of the pitch led to a brilliant solo strike from far out that slotted neatly in at the near post and put the home side ahead.
City found their equaliser through Shaw just before the hour mark as a Hemp cross into the middle of the box was met by the striker who headed it home on the rebound.
From then on City were fully in charge as Liverpool went half an hour without registering a shot and Shaw sealed their dominance with a powerful strike in the 90+2 minute to claim all three points.
Chelsea make it three from three
Chelsea put the pressure on Manchester City topped after a tasty 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
Jonas Eidevall’s side now sit on just five points from four games this season as Mayra Ramirez found the back of the net through a looping overhead kick just four minutes in to put the Blues ahead.
Chelsea backed up their strength with a Sandy Baltimore header just over 10 minutes later to double the lead.

Desperately trying to pull one back, Arsenal were rewarded by Caitlin Foord just two minutes before the break as she skirted around Lucy Bronze to fire one past Hannah Hampton and make it 2-1 at half-time.
A change of pace in the second half saw the home side gunning for a point but unable to find the back of the net, despite close calls for Stina Blackstenius and Alessia Russo.
However, the damage had already been done the Blues continue their unbeaten run this season in the BWSL.
Terland gets United past Spurs
Elisabeth Terland netted a first-half double to hand Manchester United a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The London side started the stronger, silencing the United attack with a heap of pressure as Beth England saw several chances go begging.
It was Terland who got the scoring started as Celin Bizet whipped an excellent cross into the middle for her fellow Norwegian to connect with and fire into the underside of the crossbar.
The same link-up was in action moments later as Terland headed a Bizet cross in for her second.

Maya le Tissier sealed the deal for United in the 59th minute, sending Rebecca Spencer the wrong way from a penalty after Ashleigh Neville’s was penalised for a handball in the box.
Despite a rallying final half an hour, Spurs were unable to make a dent and United are still yet to concede in the BWSL this season.
Everton and West Ham share the points
A late own goal for West Ham United saw them forced to share the points with Everton.
The Hammers were on the back foot early on after Katja Snoeijs cut behind keeper Kinga Szemik and almost scored for the hosts.
But despite Everton making all the running early on, they fell behind after 10 minutes as Viviane Asseyi laid the ball off to Anouk Denton, who smashed home from close range to score her first WSL goal for the club.
The second half saw Everton play with more urgency as they chased an equaliser, but two close chances in as many minutes did not prove fruitful as Lucy Hope’s cross was misjudged by Snoeijs before Veatriki Sarri’s shot went wide.
They finally hit the mark through Melissa Lawley as her curling cross took a deflection off West Ham’s Camila Saez and soared into the back of the net to level the scores and make it one point a piece, despite a late surge from the home side.

Brighton beat Palace in the derby
Bruna Vilamala helped Brighton & Hove Albion get past rivals Crystal Palace with a 1-0 win on the road.
Victory saw the Seagulls stay fourth in the table with their first-half score providing a crucial three points.
Felicity Gibbons had an early chance for the home side but was unable to find the net and saw her shot fly wide before an opportunity for Katie Stengel from 15 yards also went wide.
Brighton opened the scoring on 35 minutes as Shae Yanez and Nikita Paris clashed in the box when chasing a Jelena Cankovic miss, allowing Vilamala to stab home and put Brighton ahead.
It was a tough second half for the Seagulls who were forced to fight for the win as Annabel Blanchard fired a shot from 12 yards out to make Sophie Baggaley produce a brilliant save.
With Palace piling on the pressure, Brighton held their form and ultimately came away unscathed and with all three points.

All equal for Villa and City
Aston Villa and Leicester City will continue the hunt for a first WSL victory of the season after a 0-0 draw at Villa Park.
It was a cagey game throughout as Leicester’s first attempt came on the half an hour mark but CJ Bott’s strike had too much power and flew over the bar.
Adriana Leon looked dangerous the second she came on for Villa but saw her effort tipped over the bar by Janina Leitzig as Anna Patten was unable to get on the right end of a Kenza Dali cross to put the ball away.
The final 20 minutes seemed to be in Villa’s favour as the home side continued to pile on the pressure in the closing stages.
Leitzig was called into last-minute action to save a point-blank shot from Patten but produced a crucial save to keep the scores level.
