Barclays Women’s Championship end-of-season award winners confirmed

Claudia Moan - Barclays Women's Championship Player of the Season

The Women‘s Professional Game is pleased to announce the end of season award winners for the Barclays Women’s Championship.

An award voted for by a combination of the public and a panel of experts, Sunderland’s Claudia Moan came out on top in the Player of the Season rankings, beating Crystal Palace’s Elise Hughes, Sheffield United’s Isobel Goodwin and Southampton’s Katie Wilkinson to the accolade.

Keeping 10 clean sheets in 22 league outings, the shot-stopper also scooped the Golden Glove award on the final day of the season.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace’s Araya Dennis – who spent the campaign on dual registration with the Eagles from Tottenham Hotspur – saw her effort against Charlton Athletic voted as Goal of the Season.

This success marked a duo of awards for Palace, with Elise Hughes securing the Golden Boot courtesy of her 16 goals in 21 games for Laura Kaminski’s side.

Finally, London City Lionesses keeper Grace Moloney’s spectacular stop against Sheffield United was voted as the Barclays Women’s Championship’s Save of the Season.

The winners are as follows:

Player of the Season: Claudia Moan (Sunderland)
Goal of the Season: Araya Dennis (Crystal Palace v Charlton Athletic)
Save of the Season: Grace Moloney (London City Lionesses v Sheffield United)
